Cat Whisker Anecdotes
Miller and Lee have collected dozens of anecdotes about cat whisker collecting; they have
boiled them down to three basic stories.
Anecdote Number One:
" I've had cats for a dozen years and I've never seen a loose
cat whisker. I got up from reading your book, and I looked down and saw one on my
coffee table!"
Anecdote Number Two:
" I went looking for cat whiskers for a week after I read your book and
I didn't find any. We went over my sister's house and the first thing that happened is that
my daughter said -- hey Mom, is THIS a cat whisker -- pointing to the
potato chip bowl that we were all eating out of. Of course, it WAS -- a nice
black one from their big tomcat!"
Anecdote Number Three:
"My wife threw out the olive bottle I'd been saving for cat whiskers,
saying she cleaned the house and I'd never find one. That night as we went to bed the cat
jumped down off her pillow and there was a beautiful cat whisker, right where my wife
would have put her head."
