A little history helps
Cat whisker collecting does not have a massive literature. Perhaps the best known
citation dealing with cat whisker collecting first appeared in the "About The Authors"
section of the now rare 1988 Del Rey Books publication of Steve Miller and Sharon Lee's
novel Agent of Change . A slightly modified version of that same mention
was utilized in Conflict of Honors and Carpe Diem;
also by Miller and Lee and first published by Del Rey. Thousands of read-every-word readers
were exposed to the concept by these mentions and Miller has reported the acquisition of
hundreds of cat whiskers from fans and friends around the world as a result.
